Particular Assignment: Select one of the other nine essay adventures and go on it writing an essay about your adventure that is 500 to 750 words long.

Class 1 Monday September 18, 2006

1. Wrap-up Aristotle and Augustine

2. Discuss the 1^st Essay Adventure — Goal Directed Activity

3. Presentation on Syntoptic Reading and Mortimer Adler

ASSIGNMENT: Survey the book Th!nk — write a sentence about each chapter of the book after reading the first and last paragraph. Then Read first chapter of Th!nk and try to extract the themes. Write all the material in your Reflective Journals and bring them to class.

Class 2 Wednesday September 20, 2006

1. Discussion of Th!nk, a) the Structure of the Book, b) Chapter 1.

ASSIGNMENT: 1) Attend the Ultimate Roadtrip Convo 2) Complete reading part 1 of Th!nk and identify at least five key assertions (things the author says that are important to his arguments) distributed throughout the book. Write them down on a sheet of paper to hand in. Record your thoughts about them in your reflective journal.

Class 3 Friday September 22, 2006

1. Discuss what happened at the Ultimate Roadtrip Convo.

2. Continue discussing Th!nk and hand in your key assertions.

PICKUP: You should turn in your 2^nd Essay Adventure hardcopy and don’t forget the electronic copy you have to send me.

NEXT WEEK: Finish reading Th!nk, you should complete the book. Taking notes on what you think are the most important points. We will discuss them next week.
