11/15/2006 APACHE, PHP and Perl

 

THREE ROLES
- Scribe: Responsibile to Log the work of the team and keep notes also to follow and check input
- Reader: Responsible for following directions and instructing the computer operator on input following direction and check input
- Computer Operator: Responsible for Computer Input and checking.

Roles can be combined in one or more individuals at the computer.  Note that All Roles have CHECK INPUT as a responsibility

LAB FOR 11/15/2006
1) Enter an HTML document in /var/www/html/users/index.html and confirm that Apache serves the page
2) Open a browser and Go to http://www.stanton-finley.net/fedora_core_5_installation_notes.html
3) Go to section on PHP and perl
4) Get Logged In as root and save the httpd.conf file make a copy and give it the name httpdorig.conf
5) Open original copy and make changes as describe in the PHP, perl section.
6) OBJECTIVE: get the server to allow you as a student to serve perl and php pages and demo.
7) At finish of session -- create a log and email it to Dr. Schneider with Team Membership and Log.  If not complete, plan to come back to
   McK 228 and finish.  Make sure you alert Dr. Schneider to when you will do that so he can log you on as root.
8) LOG OFF AS ROOT
9) Demo that you can now load and run perl scripts.
10) email the resulting Apache configuration file to Dr. Schneider
