Class 1 Section 7.1

1. Section 7.1 Graphs of Normal Distribution (Continued)

Assignment:

1. There are 15 problems on pages 268 to 272. Divide the problems up by the concept tested and do at least two for each concept. If you have difficulty with a particular concept then do more problems and review how you are doing. You are the best judge of your own understanding.

Class 2 Section 7.2 Part I

1. Section 7.2 Standard Units and Areas Under the Standard Normal Distribution—Part 1

Assignment:

1. Study for Comprehensive Test – problems will be drawn from Chapters 1 through Chapter 7 section 7.1. You may prepare two pages (i.e. 2 sides) of notes to consult for the examination with the usual stipulations – they have to be turned in and will be graded for Extra Credit. You may also use the pull sheet from the book.

2. After you've studied for the test and are feeling OK about that, you should look at the problems from Section 7.2. There are 48 problems, pages 284 to 286 – sound like a lot – but many of them are just variations on a theme. Before next Monday's class you should go over a good sampling of them and prepare any questions you have to discuss in class.

TEST — Comprehensive Test on Chapters 1 through Chapter 7 Section 7.1

Assignment

1. Do a sampling of problems from pages 284 to 286 making sure you grasp the concepts in Section 7.2. We'll have a Question and Answer session to start off the class on Monday.
