The following matrix contains the expected progression of the course during the Fall 2002 term. The Readings entry is the material that will be discussed on the day in which it is entered. Most Tuesdays there will be a Quiz. Every other Thursday there will be a take home quiz to be turned in the following Tuesday.
Assignments are problem sets you must do to ensure to yourself that you understand the material. The assigned problem sets are a minimum recommendation. Doing them will give you an indication of whether or not you understand the material, nothing more.
Remember that the assignments below are a "minimum recommendation" -- if you have difficulty with these problems you should: 1) go back study the book and do a lot more problems to guarantee that you understand the material, 2) if you're still experiencing difficulty you need to get help from a friend, attend the math help sessions, or obtain tutorial assistance. I am always available in my office when I'm not in my classes. Stop by and chat and we'll look at what's giving you trouble.
