A variety of Birds visit, but these ducks are special because it is a wonder that they visit us at all!  But, they do come back each year. The peonies in flower make our bench an inviting place.  It is used often. The view from the bench looks across the pond to the hill and the waterfall. I like this view because it encompasses the garden and how it can join into the rest of campus.  Many do not even know this garden is here...they are too busy to look. The array of plants in front of my office window are mainly natives, but the holly offers a great place for birds.  I enjoy watching them while I work. I like the color contrast shown here with the blue spruce and the golden mop.  Add to that the red of the maple on the hill and various greens and you have a wonderful mosaic.

This is just inside the entrance to the garden from the front of McKinney. These Siberian Iris add some timely beauty to the memorial for the Shrum family. These azaleas get better and better each year.  Pictures do not do them justice. The Hawthorne is becoming an excellent anchor tree with its flowers, shade and fall fruits. The variety of vegetation from foreground to background is gorgeous and mixed in color.
